Profile

Mohammed Abdulrahman Mala Qadir Segrtcani.

I am Engineer Mohamed Abdel Rahman Qadir, born in 1955. Living in Erbil, Kurdistan, Iraq, I graduated from the Faculty of Engineering Department of Civil Engineering at Sulaimaniya university in 1978, and I was employed in the Directorate of construction laboratory in the same year in Erbil, and started working as an engineer in the concrete department after training on how to conduct tests in all departments of the laboratory for four months. One year later, I became head of the concrete department. In 1980, the National Centre for Construction Laboratories formed a team to conduct research to find the relationship between ultrasonic pulse velocity and compressive strength of hardened concrete.

I was one of the members of that team, which consisted of messrs: Dr. Mufid Abdul Wahab al-Samarrai, Supervisor, Yousif Challo Consultant, Nadir Saleh Hamad, Director of Erbil Laboratory, Kurel Miekhail Engineer, Mohammed Abdulrahman Qadir Engineer(Me). We conducted the test for a large number of concrete samples and did not have the relationship mentioned with high reliability, due to the lack of sufficient experience we have in time.

I had been working as head of a technical department for 10 years, and the longest time I've been in the concrete department. In 1985, I was sent to the Express way project in the Jordon border, city of Rutbah and remained in the field laboratory there as the qualitative control officer for parts 11.12.13, for eight months.

Then I returned to the Directorate of Erbil Construction Laboratory and began working as head of the concrete department for the second time until 1991, where I became director of Erbil construction laboratory and during this period I attended most of the courses held by the National Center for Construction Laboratories, which belonged to the concrete.

In 1997, I was transferred to the Ministry of Housing and Construction Center and worked in the design department as a construction designer engineer. Then I moved to the private sector and worked with the Turkish company 77, which was carrying out a Shorsh over pass project near to Erbil Jmhure Hospital. Seven months later, I returned to the Ministry and I tasked to establishing a construction laboratory in Koya district. After completion of the work, I took over the management of that laboratory for five years and then changed my address to the Ministry's Laboratory Advisor. During this whole period, I've been waiting a good time to do another research on the same subject as before to achieve the goal with high reliability.

In 2016 with the encouragement of the Ministry of Housing and Construction of the Kurdistan Regional Goverment, I initiated the research on the same subject again.

I started working on research at the beginning in Erbil laboratory and they were very cooperative, but they were very busy with the tests of the province's projects, so I thought of an alternative laboratory to restart working and give the accuracy its due. The selection was made to the Gomaspan Field Laboratory which was only conducting tests for the Gomaspan Dam project, so I contacted the General Directorate of Dams for the research in this laboratory, they agreed my request immediately, So I started doing this research from the beginning for the third time. I poured and tested a large number of concrete cylinders and I concluded a number of useful facts and made them the basis for research work and actually they played their part in getting what I wanted.

For the purpose of facilitating the application and following the research steps properly, it is programmed under the title of Mohammed AbdulRahman Qadir Technique. (MAQT)
